Don’t EVER get/build a loft bed in your room

Seriously. I’ve already lived in two rooms with loft beds and I can tell you: It’s fucking boiling up there! (Especially if you’re sharing it with someone)

So unless you live in Siberia or your loft bed looks like this bad boy…

…hands off!

‘Don’t bling ‘round here, tuck your jewels’

Recently my living situation has changed drastically. After residing some years in London’s south-east and then spending some time in Hackney (or Clapton, to be more precise, just off the so called ‘murder mile’; check out the (amazing) video above!), I have now moved to Hampstead Heath, North London (see below). A culture shock. I still flinch when a jogger runs up behind me convinced that I am about to get mugged.

Anyway, I’m not sure if I prefer this quiet, unexciting area. Also doing anything around here turned out to take hours as one has to maneuver around all those push chairs…

Today I went to visit 18 Stafford Terrace, former home of cartoonist Edward Linley Sambourne and his wife Marion. The house’s Victorian interior has been kept intact until today so that it’s worth a visit; especially with a tour guided by an “authentic” Marion.
